What better way for you to experience a polar expedition than on a sailing vessel! Feel the wind, hear the waves and become one with the landscape.
Follow the footsteps of the first explorers who sailed to their destination. Walking the rough terrain with a small group of fellow travellers makes you feel as if you are the first to set foot on land! The experienced guide will tell you about the geology, history and life on these remote islands with their harsh conditions.
For safety reasons and those days without wind, there’s a backup diesel engine. Equipped with modern techniques, DEX nano lubricants and clean GTL fuel, pollution is kept to a minimum.
Ocean Sherpa is technically adapted to an environmentally sensitive place such as the Arctic.
A water maker provides fresh drinking water so no plastic bottles are needed. Eco-friendly cleaning supplies and toiletries are used.
To secure all procedures, we follow the strict guidelines of the Governor of Svalbard to ensure minimal disturbance to natural sites and wildlife.
Ocean Sherpa is voluntarily operating under ISM and PWOM.
To protect the unique and sensitive Polar regions, we motivate groups to participate in beach cleaning activities, which has great effect on the local environment and awareness of our passengers.
