Are Tallaksrud

Before we bought the ship, we needed drone footage for the Ocean Sherpa website. Luckily our longtime friend Christian Graf has many connections in the maritime and sports world. He recommended Are Tallaksrud, who was happy to help. Are made a great video introducing Ocean Sherpa… and checking out his Instagram, we didn’t mind having him on board!

Are has a clear introduction on his Instagram:
Multimedia guy. GoPro dude. Mountainbiker.
Snowboarder. Surfer. Dad of 3

Erica Connolly

Erica always enjoyed photography but really started pursuing it after college when she moved to Madrid, Spain. She spent much of her two years there captivated by the old, ornate architecture, traveling as much as possible, and teaching herself so much about photography that she forgot to learn Spanish. She started her professional career shooting weddings in the Dallas area, but realized her passion lies in natural light and timeless portrait, branding, and travel photography. What better place to experience that than aboard Ocean Sherpa! Erica joined us in June -early spring. She sells her travel photography through her online print shop ’The One with Wanderlust .

Florian Ledoux

Florian captured the iconic image of a polar bear in front of Ocean Sherpa. He is an Arctic photographer whose journey began during his teenage travels. Starting as a marine rescue helicopter technician and image reporter for the French Navy, he eventually dedicated himself entirely to photography and filmmaking. Captivated by the Arctic’s untouched beauty since childhood, Florian has documented its landscapes and wildlife, including polar bears, narwhals, and whales. His work aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the Arctic, one of the last pristine places on Earth, for future generations.

Liam Doran

Liam joined us on a ski trip with some crazy skiers. Good thing he has a passion for outdoor photography and skiing! This started at a very young age. He was inspired by the incredible images of far-flung adventures he saw in the outdoor magazines on his family’s coffee table. Today he is still enamored with the craft and gets to travel the globe on his own adventures, taking pictures for editorial and commercial use along the way. That can be hard work – this group picked the steepest descents, the narrowest couloirs, and Liam had to get ahead to document it all! His commitment shows in his world-class results.

Oleksandra Smilianska

Oleksandra specializes in cinematic visuals that encapsulate the spirit of adventure.
As a photographer and videographer, she documents travelers and trekking groups, with a particular focus on mountain journeys. Her work combines breathtaking landscapes with the small, meaningful details that define each experience. In addition to her photography, Oleksandra produces video content, showcasing the beauty of exploration and the stories behind each journey.

Paul Norheim

Driven by adventure! Paul is a Norwegian freelance videographer, drone pilot & skier from Norway. Together with friends he undertakes thrilling ski challenges and documents them thoroughly. He shares his ski films and adventures online, maybe to motivate his students to make the most of life. Paul combines his adventurous spirit with teaching teens, taking time to talk about the day-to-day challenges they face.
Paul’s departure from the ship was unforgettable: While he was still sleeping, we had to leave the key side immediately during a storm. While a few landlines broke and gear got damaged, he managed to get himself, his ski’s and bags on land safely. Good thing he likes a challenge!

Stan de Haas

Stan was the first professional photographer to join our adventure. He came on board in our home port Vlissingen and photographed our interior – on the condition he could join us on an adventure. And you can tell by the pictures that it was!
Stan studied at the Graphic Lyceum, but became a professional diver after military service. He started to focus on underwater photography and later switched to leisure photography: With his company, PoolSensations, he creates super panoramas for the leisure industry. To find the best photo opportunities he travels all over the world, already visiting more than 125 countries.

Giulio Gröbert

Giulio is a German photographer and freelance content creator. He always had a sense of curiosity and a love for adventure. His journey into photography began during a trip to Asia in 2016. After taking thousands of shots his SD card failed… Determined to turn this setback into motivation, Giulio committed to improving his skills and challenged himself to upload a photo to Instagram every day.

Easygoing and adventurous by nature, he approaches life with a playful spirit but takes his work seriously. Now, he is living his dream and shares the most beautiful moments he experiences—frozen in time, transformed into art.
